Food Detective™ - Test for Food Intolerances

The complex way food affects our everyday lives is an emerging area of study and interest, and diagnosing the cause of unexplained symptoms can be difficult.

“Although not life threatening, food intolerance should never be underestimated as its impact on suffered can be significant, sometimes affecting their ability to live normal healthy lives. The incidence of food intolerance is extremely wide and it is estimated that 45% of the population could be affected” (see Food Detective Website for more details).

Food Detective™ is a blood test for food antibodies(IgG) that is conveniently administered on the spot in our clinic. You don’t have to send your sample off and wait weeks for results. Results are obtained in just 40 minutes.

Hair Tissue Mineral Analysis

Hair Tissue Mineral Analysis (HTMA) is a safe, non-invasive and inexpensive pathology test. It measures the levels and comparative ratios of nutrient and toxic minerals found in hair.

Many health conditions are aggravated by mineral imbalances and toxic metal excesses, including cardiovascular disease, high cholesterol, high blood pressure, migraines, learning difficulties and hyperactivity in children, to name just a few.

HTMA is regarded by many doctors, naturopaths and nutritional therapists as one of the most valuable screening tools available in everyday and preventative health care.

Micro Biome Testing

One of the hottest topics in health and wellbeing at the moment is the impact of the microbiome (your gut flora balance) on your health. There is a vast amount of research linking the state of your gut flora balance to various states of health and disease. Our clinic is currently preparing for the introduction of the latest evidence based testing in this area.

Saliva Testing for Stress and Hormonal Balance

As hormones play an important role in maintaining health, the assessment of hormone levels can help identify the cause of many health related conditions. In both men and women adequate levels of a number of hormones are necessary for optimal health and wellbeing.

Many factors contribute to altered hormone levels. These include environmental factors, such as chemical exposure and pesticides, lifestyle factors including smoking, alcohol, lack of exercise, poor diet and specific conditions such as infertility, endometriosis and enlarged prostate.

Saliva testing is non-invasive and designed so that the patient may collect the specimen(s) in the privacy of his or her own home. Patients are sent a test kit with easy to follow instructions for saliva collection.
